The Stage

Helen has always loved performing, telling stories and writing songs. Letting people understand her history. Uncovering and searching for her Black History as Black History is everybody’s history, everyday.

Some notable appearances include, Respect Festival, Ealing Jazz Festival and Hull International Jazz Festival. Helen has toured across Europe, Colombia International Jazz Festival 2000, Guyana, Sudan at the National theatre and PANAFEST Ghana, West Africa.

She appeared with Adizdo Dance theatre Company singing in the spectacular production, ‘Yaa Assantewaa Warrior Queen’, touring Ghana 2001, Ireland and England. Other appearances include, WOMAD 2014, Yaaba Funk Charlie Gillette BBC Stage, Zanzibar 2011, in Russia and Venice Biennale Italy.
